Batman approaches prospective team member #3, David Rubens, an obese, friendless geek with a penchant for pornography and a knack for electronics.  Three out of four of the frames on the page show the stacks of devices that are the world of David.  In this world of 90 degree angles Batman's cape seems particularly fluid and sensual.  The way it drapes and wafts up in the large central frame is very different from its surroundings.  Even David's vest has a pattern of squares.  In the lower left panel, Batman's  body with its form fitting clothing says "life" against the right angles of everything else in the store, except for David's round stomach.
